At The 100 Year Lifestyle we know that you don’t have to live in a Blue Zone to live 100:100, at 100% for 100 years or more. But, apparently it doesn’t hurt. Sardina, Italy is one of the five identified Blue Zones in the world. Those are places with high concentrations of centenarians.  Sardinia is know for being home to the world’s oldest living men. However, within Sardinia is a small town named Perdasdefogu. This tucked away corner of the world has 10 centenarians out of a population of 1,765. That’s 13 times the national average for Italy. So what’s going on in Perdasdefogu?

Vittorio Lai, nicknamed Pistol, still drives and hunts wild boar, and on Saturday became the latest person in Perdasdefogu, a remote mountain town on the Italian island of Sardinia that set a world record for longevity, to celebrate his 100th birthday.
