Dr. Rick Kirkpatrick
Dr. Rick is a native to Colorado, and grew up South-East of Lakewood in Aurora. Dr. Rick felt God was calling him into chiropractic in his early twenties and has pursued that calling ever since. He has a passion for people, and for the community he serves. He attended and graduated Life University in Marietta, Georgia. While at Life, Dr. Rick became the president of the Torque Release Technique (TRT) club and maintained the position for over a year. Dr. Rick worked closely with Dr. Jay Holder, the creator of TRT, and had the opportunity to teach hundreds doctors in the field while still a student. Due to his accomplishments with TRT, he was awarded a fellow of Holder Research Institute (FHRI). He is one of 11 in the world to ever be awarded fellow, and one of about 150 to achieve the advanced proficiency rating.
Dr. Rick and his wife Ashley were married in the summer of last year. Ashley is currently at the University of Colorado pursuing her passion of epidemiology and getting her degree in public health. Dr. Rick and Ashley are both active in their church in Centennial.
About our technique:
Torque Release Technique (TRT) is called a "tonal" technique because it normalizes the tone of the nervous system. Imagine that your nervous system has a volume control-if you turn the volume up to high, it causes distortion (increased tone) which can show up as internal organ complaints, musculoskeletal stresses, and diminished immune response. The same occurs if the volume control is set too low, in other words the nervous system is not sending enough messages to the body for what is necessary to get the job done (decreased tone). This causes your systems to become sluggish, they slow down function, and sometimes simply turn off. The muscles become weak and do not support your skeleton well, leading to all sorts of aches and pains.
TRT is a very gentle approach that seeks to correct interference to the nervous system which controls every structure and function of your body. Specific chiropractic care has been shown to help not only with neck and back pain, but also asthma, allergies, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, ear infections, bed wetting, high blood pressure, migraines, and infertility, just to name a few.
TRT corrects these problems with increased or decreased neurological tone by normalizing the functioning of the nerves, spinal cord, and brain. TRT is based upon correcting spinal misalignments, called subluxations, primarily where the wrapping of the spinal cord and brain, the dura mater, attaches to the spinal segments. These attachments only occur in a small number of sites in the spine; the upper neck area, the sacrum and coccyx (tailbone). The dura also attaches to all the bones of the skull. We include cranial bone adjusting with torque release protocols to relieve these stresses on the skull. With our unique approach, we would be honored to serve you and your family in taking your health to a new level in 2015, regardless of your starting point! We are looking forward to serving you!
